Paddle Screens

Fluid-Quip’s Paddle Screens are high capacity dewatering screens used to separate solids from liquids, or refine solids by separating according to particle size. In the corn wet milling industry, the paddle screen suite offer by Fluid-Quip is an alternative to pressure screens for fiber washing, fiber dewatering, and germ washing applications.

DESIGN FEATURES

  • All process contact parts are made of 316 or 304 stainless, depending on application
  • Internal rake clearances are easily adjustable
  • Screen size, Rake clearance, number of Rakes, and machine speed can be adjusted to accommodate wide range of process requirements
  • Large inlet and discharge chute prevents plugging
  • The internal screen, cage, and other components can be configured to be interchangeable with existing paddle style dewatering screens

Various screen opening sizes are available depending on particular applications.  Fluid-Quip can assist customers in determining configuration of screens that best fill their production requirements.

PS-32

FQ-PS32 is designed for single screen size and single liquid discharge operation.

The FQ-PS32 paddle screen consists of a cabinet enclosing a cylindrical separating screen within which four paddle bars rotate. Slurry pumped or gravity fed through the feed inlet is pressed against screen by rotating paddles. Solids larger than screen openings are retained on screen surface while excess water and finer particles pass through screen. Larger retained solids are scraped off screen surface by rakes and move through cylinder to discharge port.

MZSA-1350S

The MZSA-1350S is designed to allow two screen sizes and dual liquid discharge operation. The MZSA-1350S allows use of different screen sizes to allow for different liquid streams based on particle sizes.

Need more capacity than a PS32? Upgrade to the MZSA-1350SS for single screen size design and single discharge operation at a higher volume, up to 300% more capacity in a single machine . Benefits include increased capacity and the ability to add internal wash water through the shaft.

The MZSA-1350S consists of a frame, case, paddle rotating paddle bars and two screen sections. Slurry pumped or gravity fed through the feed inlet is pressed against screens by rotating paddles. Solids larger than screen openings are retained on screen surfaces while excess water and finer particles pass through screens. Screens with different size openings can be utilized in each section.

Tri-Di Separator

Fluid-Quip’s Patented Tri-Di Separator is designed to allow for three screen sizes and three separate liquid discharges. The unique design uses three different diameter cylindrical screens. The screens are in line with the smallest of the three screens in the first position and the largest in the last position. This unique design allows the Tri-Di Separator to achieve maximum dewatering, with minimum power input. Separate wash liquids can be added at the transition of each stage, or anywhere along the shaft creating a counter current washing effect inside the machine. The Tri-Di Separator reduces the cost of traditional multi-stage counter current washing applications.

The Tri-Di separator consists of a stainless-steel cabinet enclosing a cylindrical separating screen within which three sections of paddle bars rotate. The inner section contains four paddle bars and the two larger sections of paddle bars can be configured to four or eight paddle bars depending on process needs.
